The pan for making this unusually shaped cake was another recent gift. It was Mike’s birthday, so Janice filled the form with a lemon Bundt cake batter from Cook’s Illustrated. It was very tasty, but some batter was lost because the pan was not level when we placed it on the wire rack in the oven. Tip for octopus bundt cake pans: place them on a baking sheet.
